Netskope recently announced that we have closed a new round of financing of 300 million dollars, which was led by ICONIQ Capital and a group of existing investors, including Base Partners, a technology-focused expansion capital investment firm based in São Paulo, Brazil. Following this over-subscribed round of funding, Netskope achieves a post-payment valuation of $ 7.5 billion.
Since our inception, we have had a clear focus on the technology trends that we today know as SASE and Zero Trust, and our approach to SASE has been rapidly adopted by organizations around the world and recognized by leading market analysts. In addition, this strategic approach has been validated by our investors and customers, which in turn is giving us further momentum in our global expansion and rapid growth to meet the demand for SASE, where we are the market leader.
Netskope offers a complete, cloud-native platform of technologies that accelerate the secure digital transformation of organizations, including Zero Trust-based Network Access (ZTNA), the Next Generation Web Security Gateway (NG-SWG), and the Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB) capabilities. All of this is offered through our NewEdge Network, which is the world’s largest and most-peered private security cloud.
In Latin America, Netskope decided to make a strong bet four years ago, with the aim of transforming the security of organizations in the region. Between February and March 2020, we deployed four NewEdge data centers to support each of Netskope’s capabilities and perform local processing.
Netskope continues to invest in the region, and we plan to increase the number of NewEdge data centers in the near term.
Our investment in Latin America has also included doubling our team in the region during the last 12 months and recently opening offices in Brasilia, Brazil, and Monterrey, Mexico.
In terms of customers, we are proud to serve more than 1,500 customers globally, including 30 of the 100 largest companies in the world (Fortune 100), three of the four largest commercial banks in the world, five of the seven largest healthcare providers in the world, two of the three largest telecommunications companies in the world, and two of the four largest retail companies in the world.
In Latin America, our clients include 10 of the largest financial institutions in the region, three of the five largest telecommunications providers, and three of the five largest retail companies, among many other great references in other sectors of the region, where we have grown our installed base of users by more than 200% in the last 18 months.
At Netskope, one of our core values as a company is that our customers are always our number one priority. There is still a large knowledge gap about cloud security technologies in the region and we strive to help organizations not only adopt the technology but also show visible benefits quickly.
