Expanding the Netskope-Microsoft Relationship: Microsoft 365 Networking Partner Program (and Beyond)

Mar 29 2021

Netskope recently announced our membership in Microsoft’s Networking Partner Program (NPP). This is a key milestone in Netskope’s strategic partnership with Microsoft. Netskope’s validated solution aligns with NPP Network Connectivity Principles by default, with Microsoft 365 traffic being passed transparently.

When Microsoft and Netskope joint customers use this approach, customers receive multiple benefits, including NG-SWG capabilities for web and non-Microsoft cloud applications and CASB API protections for M365 and non-Microsoft cloud applications, with seamless application of Microsoft Information Protection to data consumed by cloud applications. Netskope’s robust understanding of cloud usage can be ingested and used by Azure Sentinel.

NPP validation extends the existing partnering between Netskope and Microsoft. The combined solutions of Microsoft and Netskope help companies on their journey to transform to the cloud.

The partnership between Microsoft and Netskope is very broad and extends beyond NPP. Most Netskope customers use M365 today, and the Netskope security portfolio is well integrated with many of Microsoft’s products.

Netskope’s CASB API supports M365 including Exchange, Teams, Sharepoint, and OneDrive. Netskope shares discovered application usage with Microsoft Cloud Application Security. Netskope leverages threat discoveries by Microsoft Defender for Endpoint to enhance Netskope cloud threat prevention. Netskope supports Azure AD for user provisioning and conditional access to applications and works with Microsoft Intune for client deployment and contextual activity controls. Throughout Netskope policy, customers can leverage Microsoft Information Protection to label and encrypt files for controlled access and sharing. And Netskope surfaces all this security data into Microsoft Azure Sentinel.

Netskope’s customers benefit from strong synergies between Netskope’s Cloud Security and Microsoft E3/E5 subscription services. Together, these integrations enable:

  • Comprehensive real-time data protection
  • User protection from cloud-enabled threats
  • Access control and contextual policy enforcement
  • Lightning-fast access to cloud applications
