Gartner recently released its first-ever Magic Quadrant for Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASBs) and I’m delighted to share with you that Netskope has been recognized as a leader. In addition to this recognition, Gartner positioned Netskope further on the “completeness of vision” axis than any of the other 10 vendors evaluated, which we believe is validation that our vision for this market and the breadth and depth of our product are matched by no other vendor.
As the leader of the Netskope team, I couldn’t be more proud of our team, partners, and customers for this achievement.
Netskope launched the first version of the Netskope Active Platform four years ago when cloud services were just starting to take a foothold in the enterprise. Employees, flush with a plethora of easy-to-use, flexible cloud services that could be procured outside of IT control (often with a simple credit card), began storing critical data and executing normal business processes in a way that left the IT and security leaders tasked with protecting that data and those processes blind.
Enter a new category of security solutions — CASBs — which are uniquely designed to address this problem. And as cloud usage has evolved in the enterprise from unsanctioned shadow IT discovery toward control of all cloud services (sanctioned or unsanctioned), Netskope has been at the forefront of innovating and solving the use cases that the enterprise demands.
Looking back at those past years, Netskope has constantly set the leadership bar for CASB, through the most comprehensive and granular visibility and control for cloud services – sanctioned and unsanctioned, the only solution deployed at scale for real-time policies and action, the ability to comprehensively address the mobile and remote work environment, industry leading and award-winning DLP and cloud threat protection functionality, and the ability to address the core use cases that other vendors architectures were simply not designed and architected for.
From a business perspective, we’re quite pleased with our progress so far. It always puts a smile on my face when we walk into a room to meet with a prospective customer and share the scale and magnitude of the organizations we’re fortunate enough to call our customers. Securing the world’s largest deployments of cloud services like Microsoft Office 365, Box, and Slack makes a difference when organizations want to know how we can help them on their journey to the cloud. Being the CASB of choice for the largest financial, insurance, retailers, health c
