What is CMMC 2.0 compliance? link link

The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) ensures that every company working with the U.S. Department of War maintains a high standard of data security. The framework requires organizations to safeguard Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) from unauthorized access. This standard aligns with NIST 800-171 to create a unified security posture across the entire defense industrial base.

Security teams are under pressure to enforce least-privileged access in a way that does not add friction to users or delay business operations. Without a centralized strategy, the risk of misconfiguration or data leakage increases. Organizations need a streamlined, automated defense mechanism that can help them achieve compliance.

  • Secure remote access: Zero trust network access (ZTNA Next) provides remote access to on-premises or cloud-hosted private applications from any device. It secures data in use and in motion with end-to-end encryption and applies granular access limits based on zero trust principles.
  • Adaptive authentication: The NG-SWG integrates seamlessly with NIST-compliant identity providers to extend single sign-on (SSO) and multi-factor authentication (MFA). Rather than relying on simple allow or block rules, context-aware controls can enforce stronger MFA for risky behavior, suggest safer alternatives, or require business justifications.
  • Preventing misconfigurations: SaaS security posture management (SSPM) oversees SaaS functions, preventing misconfigurations, and also integrates with cloud ticket orchestrator (CTO) for automated responses, converting past misconfigurations into new security rules.
  • Automated remediation: Both posture management tools integrate directly with Netskope’s CTO, automating remediation workflows by generating service tickets and allowing organizations to turn detected misconfigurations into new security rules over time.
  • Advanced malware defense: Netskope layers its defenses to protect against known and polymorphic malware, phishing, and web threats. Advanced threat protection uses deobfuscation, recursive file unpacking, and multi-stage sandboxing.
  • Remote browser isolation (RBI): To protect internal networks from malicious code, RBI isolates risky websites within a secure, cloud-based sandbox.
  • Secured connectivity: Borderless SD-WAN extends the network perimeter to any user globally via Netskope’s high-availability New Edge Network, enforcing consistent policy controls and adaptive trust. Simultaneously, the cloud firewall secures outbound traffic across all ports and protocols without backhauling, mitigating DDoS and DNS attacks.
  • Device intelligence: This feature identifies and classifies all managed and unmanaged devices on the network. Using AI and machine learning, it establishes normal behavior baselines, detects anomalies, segments risky devices, and applies zero trust access controls.
  • Behavioral analytics: Netskope’s advanced user entity and behavior analytics (UEBA) uses machine learning to assign a dynamic User Confidence Index (UCI) risk score to users. This allows organizations to adapt policies, mitigate insider threats, and recommend targeted security training.
  • Streamlined investigations: Netskope’s solutions decode over 100 inline activities to log comprehensive events, supporting non-repudiation of user actions. The cloud log shipper exports these detailed event and alert logs directly to your organization’s SIEM tool for automated incident response.
  • Threat sharing: The cloud threat exchange (CTE) and cloud risk exchange (CRE) facilitate near real-time sharing of threat indicators such as malicious URLs and normalize risk scores from third-party tools to enforce adaptive controls across the organization.
