In 2026, the global data security and privacy regulatory environment will simultaneously remain murky and become clear. Geopolitical challenges have pressured governments around the world to tighten regulations, enforcement of which will grow. The variance in regulations will spread confusion among companies who must comply with an ever-growing set of difficult-to-implement rules. This much is true: regulators and organizations will (or, should) no longer tolerate avoidable breaches. Across all industries, those responsible for breaches that result from shirking common and sensible cybersecurity best practices will be held accountable.
Watch this short videocast to hear Steve Riley (Field CTO, Netskope), Tom Baumgartner (Data Security Product Marketing, Netskope), and ISMG’s Tony Morbin, discuss the best practices that information security teams can adopt to prepare their organizations for ever-dynamic data residency, data sovereignty, and overall regulatory compliance requirements.
