Netskope Adds New Executives Amid Growing Enterprise Demand for Safe Cloud Enablement

Company appoints three seasoned industry veterans to support expanding global operations

LOS ALTOS, Calif. – Oct. 30, 2014 – Netskope, the leader in safe cloud enablement, today announced the appointment of three new executives to bolster its existing sales and marketing efforts. Effective immediately, the company has named Chris Andrews as its senior vice president of worldwide sales, Rick Holden as its vice president of business development and alliances, and Bob Gilbert as its senior director of product marketing. Collectively, these executives bring more than 45 years of experience from leading technology companies to Netskope’s team.

“These are significant additions to the Netskope team,” said Sanjay Beri, founder and chief executive at Netskope. “Over the past year, we’ve experienced a tremendous rate of growth. A core tenet of Netskope has always been to provide the best products and experience for our partners and customers. Adding Chris, Rick and Bob to the team reflects this commitment and will enable us to continue our leadership in the market.”

Chris Andrews joins Netskope from his previous role as executive vice president of worldwide sales and field operations at network control provider, Infoblox, where he led a team of more than 400 that grew sales by 30 percent year over year. Prior to that, Andrews was vice president of Americas sales at network security provider, Fortinet, Inc., and vice president of Americas at Netscreen. During his career, Andrews has developed field operations for five companies from early emergence to IPO.

Rick Holden comes to Netskope from application performance infrastructure provider Riverbed Technology, where he served as director of global alliances. At Riverbed, he developed Riverbed’s technology alliance ecosystem for cloud/SaaS, security, mobile, video and network infrastructure solutions and initiated strategic partnerships for integration/OEM solutions. Rick has 20+ years of experience in business development/alliances, product marketing, product management, technical marketing from high-growth companies such as Aruba Networks, Inktomi/Fast Forward Networks, and AT&T.

An award-winning speaker, Bob Gilbert also joins Netskope from Riverbed Technology, where he served for the past 11 years as chief evangelist and senior director of product marketing. There, Gilbert helped launch Riverbed’s groundbreaking Steelhead WAN optimization product line to the market. Prior to Riverbed, Gilbert was director of product marketing at Disksites, a file caching technology company, and director of product marketing at distributed file system technology company, Acirro.

Cloud apps are increasingly proliferating in the enterprise, both those that are formally sanctioned by IT and unsanctioned apps brought in by employees. Best practices for monitoring and enforcing policy across ever-growing ecosystems are still evolving as IT tries to rein in rogue apps. This practice has spawned a new market, Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB), which Gartner expects will surpass $3.1 billion by 2015. Further underscoring this trend and the need for better cloud enablement policies, Netskope’s recent Cloud Report found a 46 percent growth in app usage in the year between Q4 2013 and Q3 2014, with an average of 579 apps being used per enterprise organization — 89 percent of which are not enterprise ready.
