Netskope gives IT a way to guide users to Box from unsanctioned apps, prevent data loss in Box across any endpoint, and ensure security for the OneCloud ecosystem
LOS ALTOS, Calif. – August 28, 2014 – Netskope, the leader in cloud app analytics and policy enforcement, today announced it has partnered with Box to provide enterprises with an efficient way to standardize on Box. The solution enables enterprise IT to discover all of the cloud apps running in their environment and uses automated coaching messages to guide end users to migrate from unsanctioned cloud storage and collaboration apps to Box. The solution also provides content e-discovery and Data Loss Prevention for sensitive content uploaded to or existing in Box. Finally, the solution allows enterprise IT to extend Netskope’s real-time, context-aware policy enforcement to the Box app ecosystem, including Jive, Marketo, Yammer, SlideShark and DocuSign.
The partnership enables IT to more effectively address the growing “shadow IT” issue by easily identifying and rooting out the unsanctioned apps that live in a given network and pose additional compliance and security challenges. Once these apps are discovered, Netskope provides IT with end-user coaching capabilities that inform users in real-time if they’re using an unsanctioned app that violates policy or doesn’t comply with standardization efforts. This helps reduce cost and leads to higher productivity and an overall increase in IT security for enterprises.
The Netskope solution integrates seamlessly with Box so that organizations can effectively manage and protect data whether accessed by PCs, tablets and mobile devices. It’s also capable of providing a full inventory of existing content in Box, identifying whether the content is sensitive or confidential, and triggering automatic policies to remediate, quarantine and enforce other real-time activities related to the content—a common feature needed by enterprises with e-Discovery and security requirements.
