LOS ALTOS, Calif. – April 8, 2014Netskope™, the leader in real-time cloud app analytics and policy enforcement, today announced that its Vice President of Marketing Jamie Barnett will join in a panel discussion about enabling shadow IT at CITE Conference and Expo 2014 in San Francisco later this month. The panel will feature executives from 451 Research, Cloud Sherpas, Pertino and Spiceworks discussing their views on the benefits of allowing employees to use their favorite devices, and cloud apps while maintaining data protection and compliance. Due to popular demand, the panel will occur twice during the conference.

CITE Conference Session Details:

SESSION:Let Your Users Go Rogue Without Going off the Range

Monday, April 28 at 11:40 a.m. PT

LOCATION:Hilton Union Square, San Francisco
SPEAKERS:Jamie Barnett, VP of Marketing, Netskope

Peter Christy, Research Director, 451 Research

David Hoff, CTO and Co-Founder, Cloud Sherpas

Todd Krautkremer, VP of Marketing, Pertino

Sanjay Castelino, VP of Marketing, Spiceworks

OVERVIEW:Users are going rogue. They’re using apps and devices to make work easier. Scary? Yes. Should you smoke ’em out of their holes and shut ’em down? No way! Instead, join executives from Cloud Sherpas, Netskope, Pertino and Spiceworks for a discussion about the latest tools and best practices for letting users go rogue…in a safe way. Panelists will offer practical, specific advice on how to run the Shadow IT gauntlet and come out the other side with your data protected and compliance status intact.

Netskope, making its first appearance at CITE Conference, launched from stealth in October 2013 with $21 million in funding from The Social+Capital Partnership and Lightspeed Venture Partners. Earlier this year, the company announced Netskope Active, the industry’s only platform that provides context-aware cloud data loss prevention (DLP), encryption, and anomaly detection in real time for any cloud app, whether the app is sanctioned by IT or not.

Most recently, Netskope provided the industry with a list of enterprise cloud apps vulnerable to the Heartbleed Bug. Starting with a count of 100 apps, Netskope tracked remediation efforts on a daily basis. In addition, research from Netskope revealed that 88% of the cloud apps that remained vulnerable to Heartbleed were not considered enterprise-ready according to Netskope’s Cloud Confidence Index. The research demonstrates the direct tie between remediation and enterprise-readiness.

About Netskope
Netskope™ is the leader in cloud app analytics and policy enforcement. Only Netskope eliminates the catch-22 between being agile and being secure and compliant by providing complete visibility, enforcing sophisticated policies, and protecting data in cloud apps. The Netskope Active Platform performs deep analytics and lets decision-makers create policies in a few clicks that prevent the loss of sensitive data and optimize cloud app usage in real-time and at scale, whether IT manages the app or not. With Netskope, people get their favorite cloud apps and the business can move fast, with confidence.
