Data Loss Prevention and eDiscovery Capabilities Help Secure the Mobile Enterprise Workforce
LOS ALTOS, Calif. – December 3, 2014 – Netskope, the leader in safe cloud enablement, today announced an integration with Dropbox for Business that enables customers to address their data loss prevention and eDiscovery needs seamlessly between the two services. Dropbox for Business provides teams with the power, security, and performance of Dropbox, along with robust admin capabilities that give IT visibility and control over company data. Netskope now becomes one of several leading service providers building on the new Dropbox for Business API in order to offer increased enterprise-grade functionality within Dropbox for Business.
Through this new integration, Netskope now enables secure search and the ability to collect and preserve electronically stored information (ESI), as well as protects sensitive data stored in Dropbox for Business accounts, providing enterprise-class DLP, auditing, and easy data management. Companies will be able to streamline their operations around sensitive corporate data, and manage it all within Netskope for Dropbox.
Netskope’s flagship product, the Netskope Active Platform, helps organizations find, understand, and secure all cloud apps running in their environment in real-time, whether sanctioned by IT or not. During each phase of app enablement, the Netskope App Context Engine provides a holistic view of usage so that IT can set policies that let people do their work without subjecting the enterprise to unnecessary security risk. Furthermore, the company’s introspection and DLP capabilities identify sensitive content already within Dropbox, or as it’s being uploaded. This inspection is based on more than 3,000 broadly-accepted, industry-standard data identifiers across more than 400 different file types.
“With the continued rise of cloud apps in the enterprise, the digital workplace continues to change in ways that require a realistic approach to security corporate data,” said Rajneesh Chopra, Netskope vice president of product management. “Netskope’s integration with Dropbox for Business is a prime example of the platform’s ability to provide visibility and security in the evolving work environment, while enabling employees to be both productive and agile. This partnership signals a preemptive shift towards securing the mobile workforce in a world where companies are increasingly storing their most sensitive data in the cloud.”
